Oklahoma City Indian Clinic
I began my career at Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) as a Graphic Designer in 2015, quickly advancing to Communications Specialist and most recently to Lead Communications Specialist in 2023. In this role, I lead strategic communications initiatives, oversee creative content development, and ensure consistent, high-quality messaging across campaigns.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Mentor and support communications staff, coaching team members on writing, design, and professional development.

Graphic Design
- Create designs using Adobe Creative Suite (primary) and Canva (secondary) for events, publications, advertising, and brand assets.
- In 2024, directed the full creation of a commemorative 50-year publication booklet, including research, writing, design, and production completed entirely in-house. This high-profile project showcased OKCIC’s history and impact while serving as a centerpiece for anniversary celebrations. I also ensured all campaign media aligned with consistent 50th brand standards, reinforcing organizational identity across platforms.
- Produce the Annual Report (70+ pages) from start to finish, including content collection, analysis, writing, design, and publication, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Oversee the design, content, and production of the biannual HORIZONS magazine (45+ pages), having transitioned from sole creator to project lead overseeing a collaborative process.
Crisis Management
- Assisted in communications during a major cybersecurity breach in 2022, delivering timely messaging through email, social media, and other channels to keep patients informed.
- Coordinated communications during the COVID-19 pandemic hybrid transition, creating graphics, video content, and messaging that supported continuity of care.
Campaigns, Branding and Media Relations
- Write press releases, articles, and publications in AP Style, ensuring accurate and engaging storytelling.

Events and Community Engagement
- Assist with event coordination and communications strategy for OKCIC events, including the annual Red Feather Gala serving 600+ attendees. Oversee design and messaging for event materials, ensure content consistency across media platforms, and implement creative strategies to reach audiences before and during the event.
- Support promotional campaigns and communications for annual Health Fairs serving multiple audiences (Children, Men, Women, Elders, Walk for Wellness). Collaborate across departments and ensure consistent messaging across email, social media and the website.
- Served as community partner coordinator for OKCIC’s 50th anniversary celebration at the First Americans Museum in 2024, managing relationships with nearly 30 partners.
Website Management
- Primary staff member responsible for overseeing okcic.com, ensuring content remains current, clear, and consistent.
- Led OKCIC’s full website redesign with support from a third-party company, overseeing all content creation and working with the Director to guide design decisions.

Process Improvement
- Designed and implemented OKCIC’s internal media ticket form, creating a streamlined process for departments to request communications support. Over nine years, led multiple iterations of the form, mapping and refining the process using Lean Six Sigma principles. Applied Green Belt certification to improve clarity, efficiency, and usability, resulting in stronger collaboration between the communications department and internal teams.
- Participated in several organization-wide process improvement projects and led one specific to the Annual Report, developing a system for internal teams to more efficiently and effectively submit departmental content, which reduced turnaround time and improved accuracy.
Bureau of Indian Affairs
In 2014, I completed a six-week internship with the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Washington, D.C., where I applied my design and communication skills to support program initiatives. I developed presentation materials for a new bureau program, ensuring they were clear, adaptable, and ready for use by presenters across diverse audiences.
O’Colly
From 2013 to 2015, I worked for Oklahoma State University’s student newspaper, The O’Colly. I began as a photographer and videographer before being promoted to Photo Editor (2014–2015). In this role, I managed a staff of 12 photographers, oversaw photo editing and publication decisions, and maintained an organized photography database. During my tenure, The O’Colly earned the Oklahoma Press Association’s award for Best Collegiate Newspaper (2014).
